Notice of Budget Committee Meeting

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Oregon Coast Community College, Lincoln, State of Oregon to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 will be held at Oregon Coast Community College, 400 SE College Way, Newport Oregon 97366.  The meeting will take place on May 18, 2016 at 6:00 pm.  

The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget.  This a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place.  Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.  A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 18, 2016 at Oregon Coast Community College 400 SE College Way, Newport Oregon 97366 between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

 


 

 

OCCC Student honored with national award

-  Miguel Angel Gaspar Marquez traveled to Chicago to receive prestigious award, and $7,000

-  Only 20 college students from across the US selected

-  Gaspar and fellow OCCC student Tomy Torres also named to All-Oregon Academic Team

 

 

CHICAGO, IL 

 

It’s not every day that an Oregon college student finds himself or herself on the cover of USA Today, but this month, an Oregon Coast Community College student did just that.  Miguel Angel Gaspar Marquez was selected for one of just 20 spots on the “All-USA Community College Academic Team,” earning recognition as one of the most impressive community college students in the nation.

 

Miguel traveled to Chicago, along with OCCC President Dr. Birgitte Ryslinge and Dean of Students & Instruction Cindy Carlson, to receive the honor in person. A special edition of USA TODAY in Illinois features Miguel and his 19 fellow Academic Team members.
