Chris Boyle | President

I am Chris Boyle. I come from a multi-generation Oregon family and grew up in the Willamette, and Umpqua valleys. I was born in Eugene, went through most of grade school in Roseburg and graduated from Dallas High School. My B.A. in English Education is from Linfield College in McMinnville. Following earning my B.A. I taught school in Vernonia, Oregon and had a wonderful time there. I also attended the University of Montana to earn an M.A. in Educational Counseling in the summers. I took a break from education for two years and then came to Lincoln County in the fall of 1980 and completed my career, retiring in 2002.
Since retiring I have served on several local boards including OCCC’s Foundation Board. As a teacher, it was difficult to be a meaningful part of local civic organizations due to school commitments, but upon retiring I have the time and have truly enjoyed serving. It is a wonderful way to give back to a community that has been good to me. I am a committed believer in the value of education to enhance people’s lives in multiple ways and strongly support OCCC’s mission.
My wife, Pam, and I enjoy traveling, reading, sports and spending time with friends.
